A Question for you...

Hi! If you have a mac, what programs do you use to edit photos? Have you heard of Pixelmator? What are your favorite features or processes for editing? I'm only just entering the world of photo editing outside of the simple Picasa and would love any tips..

I am also looking for a nice and easy program for editing on my mac. I downloaded the trial version of Aperture and I also downloaded Gimp, but with both I am not really 100% happy. I might try the trial version of Photoshop soon. Let me know about your progress :)

I use GIMP, but I'm not on a mac. ;)

But I just had to stop by and say I love the low contrast editing to your photo, it seems like a picture of a memory inside someone's head.

I link it back on my blog... if you want you can see it here...

Sorry, I only use Picasa and picknik.... afraid I haven't progressed past those programs! xo

great pic!! ...and "adobe photoshop lightroom 3 " is just the perfect program for editing photography!!

Photoshop is great for editing and you can get some really nice effects if you use actions and textures. I have friends who use Lightroom and they seem to really like it especially for organising files.

I just use iPhoto on my Mac, but I've used Photoshop for PC and I'm pretty sure it's still the best out there.

hey girl, i have a mac, but i just use picnik. apple also has the apperture program. if you're using a nikon camera, nikon usually has its own software for editing photos.

i have a mac but only have iPhoto as of right now. i use picnik.com and love it! but saving up for adobe lightroom :)

Hi, I am a Mac user too (and I have also a Nikon D90 :))
I use Photoshop CS5, it is excellent but unfortunately it is very expensive too. I also have Photoshop Elements, that is almost the same, it is perfect for most editing task. And it's price is very friendly. I recommend it to you.

This photo is really interesting. Where is this place?
Have a nice weekend!

I agree with Mr Pararazzo - photoshop is excellent but pricey (ouch!), elements is a cheaper investment and a little more clunky but achieves almost exactly the same results.

great photo Krystal! I need to visit this other blog of yours more often. With the new camera, I find it very inspirational to drop by here. And I didn't know you had the Nikon D90, basically I hesitated between the Nikon D3100, D90 and the Canon Eos 550 (or Rebel T1 as they call it in America!). All 3 give great pictures and for me it was more of getting an entry level SLR and the most recent one as technology is constantly evolving!
Oh and regarding the girl wearing my tights and my tights only as bottoms that is hilarious! SOunds like an Amsterdam thing...once saw this lady also only wearing tights and you could see her G-string...not so classy!

PS: i would recommend obviously photoshop but I will ask my bf as he is some experience with graphic design and I know he is not going to pay for photoshop. By the way my Nikon came with a software, is it any good? I still didnt' install it.

I'm clueless about the question(though i've heard the terms before). However, the photo is pretty cool-love it!

Lovely picture. At work I use photoshop CS5 which is amazing but also very expensive which is why I don't have it on my own macbook. the iphoto tool is good for simple things. I don't really edit my photos because I never have the time or the tools so I'm going to see what everyone else has recommended =)

hey krystal, i started off by using aperture for mac. its a good program but needs atleast 5gb of ram to run smoothly. I have now started using photoshop cs5. If you download the trial version of aperture 3 i can send you an activation key to make it registered and permanent.
