Hi! If you have a mac, what programs do you use to edit photos? Have you heard of Pixelmator? What are your favorite features or processes for editing? I'm only just entering the world of photo editing outside of the simple Picasa and would love any tips..

Sorry Krystal, of no assistance here...but this pic is cool.

i work on windows with photoshop, but it does not help you i think... anyway this photo is awesome!
I would link it on my blog definitely!
Best day!
I am also looking for a nice and easy program for editing on my mac. I downloaded the trial version of Aperture and I also downloaded Gimp, but with both I am not really 100% happy. I might try the trial version of Photoshop soon. Let me know about your progress :)

I use GIMP, but I'm not on a mac. ;)
But I just had to stop by and say I love the low contrast editing to your photo, it seems like a picture of a memory inside someone's head.
I link it back on my blog... if you want you can see it here...

this pic is cool!! I use a mac, and for the regular things I use Picasa, for the more 'professional' stuff and just to play a little I use photoshop :)

Sorry, I only use Picasa and picknik.... afraid I haven't progressed past those programs! xo
great pic!! ...and "adobe photoshop lightroom 3 " is just the perfect program for editing photography!!
Photoshop is great for editing and you can get some really nice effects if you use actions and textures. I have friends who use Lightroom and they seem to really like it especially for organising files.
I just use iPhoto on my Mac, but I've used Photoshop for PC and I'm pretty sure it's still the best out there.
sorry, i dont have mac
I don't have a mac, but I bet you could use picnick.
Sounds like a lovely application! Have a wonderful day, Kellie xx
photoshop elements does about all you need....
hey girl, i have a mac, but i just use picnik. apple also has the apperture program. if you're using a nikon camera, nikon usually has its own software for editing photos.
Sorry...I have a crappy old Dell PC. But your photo is certainly outstanding!
i have a mac but only have iPhoto as of right now. i use picnik.com and love it! but saving up for adobe lightroom :)
Hi, I am a Mac user too (and I have also a Nikon D90 :))
I use Photoshop CS5, it is excellent but unfortunately it is very expensive too. I also have Photoshop Elements, that is almost the same, it is perfect for most editing task. And it's price is very friendly. I recommend it to you.
This photo is really interesting. Where is this place?
Have a nice weekend!
I agree with Mr Pararazzo - photoshop is excellent but pricey (ouch!), elements is a cheaper investment and a little more clunky but achieves almost exactly the same results.
great photo ,, i have the photoshop ,, love it
but its a super heavy program and needs allot of space and ram space to work
so i just used the iphoto edits on my macbook ,, very easy ,, and makes my life so much easier when editing pics =) wish it had add text tho =(
Hi! i use aperture or lightroom! they work pretty nice!
great photo Krystal! I need to visit this other blog of yours more often. With the new camera, I find it very inspirational to drop by here. And I didn't know you had the Nikon D90, basically I hesitated between the Nikon D3100, D90 and the Canon Eos 550 (or Rebel T1 as they call it in America!). All 3 give great pictures and for me it was more of getting an entry level SLR and the most recent one as technology is constantly evolving!
Oh and regarding the girl wearing my tights and my tights only as bottoms that is hilarious! SOunds like an Amsterdam thing...once saw this lady also only wearing tights and you could see her G-string...not so classy!

PS: i would recommend obviously photoshop but I will ask my bf as he is some experience with graphic design and I know he is not going to pay for photoshop. By the way my Nikon came with a software, is it any good? I still didnt' install it.
I'm clueless about the question(though i've heard the terms before). However, the photo is pretty cool-love it!
if you can't purchase one use the one on Flickr. if you can purchase one I would say Lightroom
Beautiful picture, sorry I can't help you with your mac question ☼
I am only skilled at using Adobe Photoshop. Sorry! Great Chanel store pic! xo style, she wrote
I absolutely adore this picture! I can't believe you're just starting out in photography, your pictures are incredible. I would have guessed you'd been doing it for years.
I use picnik and iPhoto but I'm not much of a photographer.
Hi! Nice to find you! I'm on the brink of buying myself a Nikon D3100 and i have a photography evening class to start in march! Love your photos, I'll be following :)
I wish I could help, but I have a PC. Sorry. :/

My Mac-partner uses Photoshop CS4- a legendary program and $. Gimp is a good all rounder for free.
I suggest you to use adobe lightroom or adobe photoshop
for advance task, use photoshop

I have not delved into the world of photo editing just yet, but a lot of people I know use Photoshop. Good luck.

Are you kidding? This photo is fantastic. But if you want more I would recommend Photoscape. It's smth between Photoshop and Picasa. Easy way to get nice result. Keep on going!

Lovely picture. At work I use photoshop CS5 which is amazing but also very expensive which is why I don't have it on my own macbook. the iphoto tool is good for simple things. I don't really edit my photos because I never have the time or the tools so I'm going to see what everyone else has recommended =)
Bow Dream Nation xx
I use iphoto for the most part but one of my resolutions is to become more proficient with photoshop!
I don't have a mac...but I am a loyal photoshop user and lover.
Leigha
I love this blog
I love the contrast here! Very nice!
I don't have a mac so I can't help you there. =\
I used iPhoto until recently...I'm still trying to find a good solution myself! I just purchased Photoshop...but it's taking me awhile to learn. Love the Mac though...it's the BEST. Thank you so much for all your sweet comments :) xoxo {av}
love your photos!
krystal-
i'm new (and not very good) at photo editing too. for a quick edit, i just use iphoto on my mac. otherwise, my canon rebel came with editing software that i'm learning to use.
great new pics.
Loving the new blog look and this pic!!
I just use GIMP and Iphoto. Nothing professional but it gets the job done
Thanks :D
Hm. I guess I'm not as photo savvy, but I do like Photoshop. Gets the job done. :)
hey krystal, i started off by using aperture for mac. its a good program but needs atleast 5gb of ram to run smoothly. I have now started using photoshop cs5. If you download the trial version of aperture 3 i can send you an activation key to make it registered and permanent.
photoshop or lightroom
i have a mac and use photoshop or lightroom!
I generally use photoshop. xoxo
